The park sits on the coast road between Williton and Watchet, about 45 minutes from the M5. The last few miles are proper Somerset lanes, so allow a bit longer than the sat nav claims, especially if others are towing.
(Devon, Cornwall and the South West)
Leave the M5 at junction 25 for Taunton and follow the A358 signposted Minehead. Stay on it for about 14 miles to the roundabout at Williton, then follow signs for Watchet and Doniford. The park entrance is on Sea Lane, signposted Haven Doniford Bay.
(Bristol, the Midlands and the North)
Leave the M5 at junction 23 or 24 for Bridgwater and pick up the A39 towards Minehead. Follow it through Cannington, Nether Stowey and Kilve for about 15 miles. At West Quantoxhead, fork right just after St Audries garage. The park is roughly a mile further on, on your right.
The nearest mainline station is Taunton, about 16 miles away, with direct trains from London, Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester and beyond. From there it is roughly half an hour by taxi or the 28 bus.
There is also a station almost on the doorstep. Doniford Halt sits on the West Somerset Railway, the heritage steam line between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead, and it is a short walk from the park. It was built in 1987 specifically to serve the holiday park. It is a request stop, so put your hand out to signal the driver, and if you are travelling back, sit in one of the front three coaches and tell the guard where you want to get off. There is no ticket office, so buy on the train or online.
Worth knowing: the steam line runs at weekends and on selected days from March to October, and daily in late spring and summer. Lovely for a day out, but check the timetable before relying on it for your arrival day.
The 28 and 28A run between Taunton and Minehead via Bishops Lydeard, Williton and Watchet, operated by First's Buses of Somerset. The park sits on the coast road between Williton and Watchet, so ask the driver for the stop nearest Doniford Bay. Buses run roughly hourly through the day, with a reduced service on Sundays and bank holidays. Live times are on the First Bus app.
Taxis from Taunton station to the park take about half an hour. Local firms are small and get busy in summer, so book ahead rather than turning up and hoping, especially on a Friday or a Monday changeover. Ask for Doniford Bay Holiday Park, Sea Lane, Watchet, TA23 0TJ. If you are arriving late or with a lot of luggage, it is worth booking the return leg at the same time.

Our private three bedroom caravan sleeps up to eight and sits moments from the heart of the park, with the pools, bars, restaurant and chippy all on your doorstep. The beach is at the bottom of the path.
